What are the precautions on installing mining machines on the rack?

Mining machines need to be inspected before being installed on the rack. Check the appearance of the mining machines for traces of violent collision, shake the mining machines to see whether the radiators fall out, and check the appearance of the two fans to see whether they are defaced and deformed.

While most miners will host their mining machines at crypto mining farms, a few of them may own a large number of mining machines and install them on the rack by their own.

Mining machines need to be inspected before being installed on the rack. If the product is damaged, it needs repairing and testing before installing on the rack.

Check whether the cables (fans, 6-pin power supply, and operation board) are properly and firmly inserted, and ensure that the 6-pin cable of operation board power supply is inserted in the wrong direction. Do not omit to insert the 6-pin power cable into the control panel, or it will cause the operation board to be burnt and scrapped, and the power cable reversely inserted into the control panel will also cause the control board to be burned. Looseness and reverse insertion may result in burnout. Power cable and socket should not be too loose, which may easily cause poor contact, and attention should be paid when purchasing socket and power cable.

Isolation is required before the mining machines are installed on the rack. All mining machines can be divided by rack area and non-racking area. The networks between the two should be isolated from each other. The machines for maintenance should be transferred to the racking area after no error is detected in the non-racking area to avoid the risk of virus infection. If the mining machines you purchased are second-hand, attention should also be paid in this respect.

If the machines installed on the rack encounter a very low temperature, it should avoid starting directly at low temperature and need to start preheating. The mining machines can be placed in the area of 25℃ ambient temperature (such as hot air area at the mining farm) for reheating before installing them on the rack. The drier the preheating area is better. Preheating in a place with high humidity is impermissible; otherwise the water vapor in the mining machines could cause the failure of the mining machines.

When deploying mining machines to be installed on the rack in batches, pay attention to planning IP addresses to facilitate subsequent fixing of IP addresses, DHCP division and stagger static IP addresses to be fixed.
